Pre - Production Planning : Making Titles For Our Movie

Making the titles will require using the titles option in content library on the left of the iMovie. This is for the scene of when Jack is walking down the road in the dark, and this adds effect by putting the time for the audience to think that the time in the film makes them more scared, because darkness and lateness in real life immediately adds tension.

23:48pm - This is the type of font we will be using for our time in our film and titles, as it looks quite an old film, and adds tension as its abrupt and blunt.

Software and Production: 2

For all of our editing we will be using iMovie software, this is a professional piece of software (used to make Hollywood films). It has the tools we need to edit our film including audio and visual effects.

I have used this software before on my Youtube video i made in the summer of 2015, so i am very familiar using this and therefore enjoyed using this software.

We will be doing all of our editing on an Apple iMac 21.5 inch desktop. The large screen will create a better picture quality and performance allowing us to do better editing on our project.

For the titles we will be using the title feature on iMovie as this gives good and effective text, as well as this using time in the bottom corner to add a scary effect.

Software and Production : 1

For our filming we will be using a Nikon D3300 DSLR, the camera shoots in HD which gives a high quality picture which giving our film opening a professional look. In addition to this the camera has a zoom feature, which will help us emphasise some our shots. We enjoyed using this camera as it was easy to use and view our footage after filming.

The gorilla tripod, this will help us put the camera in positions where a normal tripod would make it impossible to normally and make it easier set up. There are a few shots in our filming that will track a character in which we need this equipment.

We will be using the rode shotgun mic, as this makes it easier for sound to be reached forward and will ignore sound behind the background so its easier to hear.

Pre Production: Health and Safety Risks Of Our Film

During filming we're aware that we could face a few health and safety risks. So we precautions in order to be safe.
  1. Tripod - tripping hazard. We are aware of having the tripod out at most times and so this may get in our way at times and cause a tripping hazard and could break break the camera. We will therefore exercise caution when walking around the tripod.
  2. Wires - tripping hazard. We are also aware that there will be wires lying from the lighting and so we will be careful when walking around the wires to not cause an accident.
  3. Damage of equipment. Another thing that we must be aware of is damaging either the camera or tripod, as it is the schools equipment and if we break it, we will have to pay for it. Therefore we will be extremely careful using it and will be sure to have at least one person in control of them at a time.
  4. Dangerous props. In our scene we use a lot of dangerous props, such as knifes, in order to show that one character is the antagonist and to help aid the story line. Despite this, we are fully aware that using this equipment in filming is quite risky. So we will always make sure that we handle these in the correct and sensible way.
  5. Weather conditions. Finally, a risk is the weather. For example, if it is wet or icy conditions, one of us could fall onto the ground. Also it could either rain or snow, possibly causing damage to the equipment. So we will make sure that we check the forecast based on days to film.

Pre Production Planning: Casting

For our opening scene we needed 1 actor to play the part. A male antagonist around the age of 16-18. Then we need children of a similar age to star as the tension build and the creepiness of the film. We needed the antagonist to be quite tall and possibly to have quite dark features as this would help imply that they were a serious and scary antagonist. The character will be dressed in normal clothes as this creates realism to the audience watching

As the antagonist is the main role and is very serious, we need an actor who will be very professional and has experience. As the the children, they need to have no serious acting experience, just to look scary

So we have decided to get Jack Addis to play our antagonist as he is an experienced actor and has taken both GCSE and A-Level drama. Therefore, we feel he has the necessary traits and ability to portray the role of the antagonist.
Our actor: Jack Addis, main role in the film:
                                                                          JACK

Pre Production Planning: Photos Of Film Places

Here, Laila and I took photos to help work out our final film and to create ideas to how and where we will shoot, and possible angles to shoot as well.

Here is a photo of where Jack will be walking out of, this house is a creepy house and will gain tension to the audience.

Here is a photo of the grave that we will be using as the plan to put Jack's name on it, for the bit where he realises his name is on it and it is his death soon.

Here is a photo of the eerie feel of a forest area, where Jack will be seeing his near death. This eerie location will provide tension to the audience as he gets taken to his death.

This final photo we took is of different eyes, this is so we can get the perfect close up shot of Jack's eyes to when we realises that his death is soon when he sees his own name on the gravestone.
