Target Audience (Who It Appeals To)
After watching the opening to this film, i can connote from this that this film was targeted at teenagers and adults that range from 15-25. I think this age is suitable for the movie because the humour within this film is suitable for this age range, has some bits of the film are quite crude, which makes it popular between the lower years, as they find the crude humour bringing more hilarity. I feel that the age range below 15 will not enjoy this and may find it quite harming to their mind. As well as this, its a 15+ age rating therefore they have an inability to watch this. However, the older age may find this type of humour quite concerning and they may not enjoy it as much as it may not be to their type of humour.
Sound
In the beginning of the opening scene, the sound is very inspiring, with a hint of the theme of heroicness. As well as the inspiring theme in the background, the main character (future kickass) exclaims how the idea that not one person wouldn't give being a hero a go, which then makes it inspiring with the music as well as the narrative over the top. Also the noises of New York in the background give a sense of realism and the thought like you are there, it adds to the background.
Representation of characters and mise en scene
In the opening of the scene holds the introduction to what is happening within the city. It has a pan shot of all of the New York residents or passer by-ers pointing and looking up at the 'super hero' about to attempt to jump off of the empire state building. As well as this it holds then a close up shot of the super heroes face as he is looking over the horizon very proudly.
